LabMODO for Manufacturers’ quality labs

The practical quality system for your manufacturing lab — not another set of spreadsheets

Your QC lab protects the product and the line. LabMODO puts its documents, competency, equipment calibration, and corrective actions in one system the whole lab uses — so a customer audit or an ISO 9001 surveyor is a walkthrough, and quality doesn’t ride on one person’s memory.

What does a manufacturer’s quality lab need from a QMS?

A manufacturer’s quality lab needs control without the overhead — controlled test methods and work instructions, operator competency, calibrated test equipment, and corrective actions, all in one system instead of scattered spreadsheets. You don’t need accreditation software; you need quality your production line can count on and evidence you can produce when a customer, a supplier audit, or an ISO 9001 surveyor asks. LabMODO is the practical QMS that holds it, and runs around your ERP or LIMS.

The problem

Your lab protects the product — on spreadsheets and one person’s memory

A manufacturing quality lab carries real stakes: a missed result or a drifting instrument doesn’t fail an accreditation — it ships a bad lot. And it usually runs the same way everyone else’s does.

  • Quality runs on spreadsheets. Incoming and finished-goods test results, QC, gauge and instrument calibration, SOPs, and competency — spread across Excel, shared drives, and memory. “It’s very manual.”
  • The audits are customers and ISO 9001, not accreditation. A customer audit or a 9001 surveyor asks for the record and it’s a scramble — and a poor audit can put the contract, not just a certificate, at risk.
  • One quality person holds it all. Consistency depends on who’s in the building; when they move on, the know-how goes with them, and the line feels it.

How it fits

How LabMODO fits a manufacturing quality lab

Not the whole product tour — the parts that keep product quality defensible.

01

Controlled methods and work instructions.

Every test method and work instruction approved before it’s live, current at the bench, every revision tracked — so operators work to the current spec, not a printout from two revisions ago. → SOP & document management

02

Operator competency per test.

Who’s qualified to run which test, demonstrated and current, flagged before it lapses — so a result never rides on untrained hands. → Competency tracking

03

Calibrated test equipment, on schedule.

Gauges and instruments calibrated and maintained on a schedule that surfaces due dates before they pass — no measurements on out-of-cal equipment. → Calibration & equipment

04

Defects caught, closed, and proven.

Nonconformances and corrective actions caught on the line, driven to closure, with the evidence attached — the record a customer audit or a recall investigation will ask for. → CAPA & nonconformance

05

Runs around your ERP or LIMS.

LabMODO isn’t an ERP, MES, or LIMS and doesn’t replace them — it’s the quality system around them. Where they stop, LabMODO starts. → Works with or without your LIMS

Where it fits

One system, watched from above

LabMODO runs the quality side of your lab as one loop — rules → able people → daily work → checked against your standards — with Mission Control as the lid: lab status Green/Yellow/Red, test coverage, and everything past due or upcoming. When a customer audit or a failed check finds something, the finding updates the rules and the loop closes. Quality stops being a filing cabinet and becomes a system that corrects itself.

The outcome

What a manufacturing quality lab gets from a system it actually uses

Consistent product, provable.

Current methods, qualified operators, and calibrated equipment behind every result — so quality holds lot to lot.

Customer and ISO 9001 audits become walkthroughs.

The evidence is current the day the work happens, so a surveyor or a customer auditor sees a lab in order.

Quality doesn’t ride on one person.

Methods, competency, and follow-up live in the system, so turnover stops threatening consistency.

Less overhead, more control.

One system instead of a dozen spreadsheets — and the hours a quality lead spends chasing records come back.

FAQ

If yours isn’t here, ask it on the demo.

We’re not an accredited lab — is LabMODO still for us?

Yes. LabMODO is built for any quality lab running on spreadsheets and one person’s memory, accredited or not. For a manufacturer’s lab the driver isn’t accreditation — it’s consistent product and the customer and ISO 9001 audits you do face — and the same system (documents, competency, calibration, corrective action) covers exactly that.

Do we need ISO 17025?

No. ISO 17025 accreditation isn’t required to use LabMODO — it just happens to be where quality systems get tested hardest. A manufacturing lab gets the same control for product quality, supplier and customer audits, and ISO 9001.

Does it help with customer audits and ISO 9001?

Yes — the evidence a customer auditor or an ISO 9001 surveyor checks (controlled procedures, competency, calibration, corrective action) is held current and producible, so the audit is a walkthrough rather than a scramble.

Does it work with our ERP, MES, or LIMS?

Yes — LabMODO works alongside them. Your ERP/MES/LIMS run production and sample data; LabMODO runs the quality system around them. Where they stop, LabMODO starts.

How fast can we be running?

Most teams are running in about four weeks. LabMODO moves your methods, competency records, and calibration schedule in first, then your team learns it in four one-hour calls, with a certified auditor reviewing your quality content along the way.
